Robotics Team

Robotics is a comprehensive STEM program and has been proven to spur student interest in STEM college and career pathways. It engages students in complex yet fun ways, encouraging them to use critical thinking skills to solve a given task. Robotics requires students to develop mechanical and electrical knowledge and an understanding of computer programming and science to learn how to design, prototype, and troubleshoot, all while working together as a team. Students each have their own job where they can use their strengths to build, design, program or promote their robotics team.

At DeKalb Central, each school chooses their Robotics Teams differently, but we all try to have a diverse group of students with various strengths. All academic levels are welcome. Each school competes in at least one competition which can then qualify them for the state competition held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
