My name is Mrs. Yoder.  I graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education in 2003. In 2005, I received my master's degree in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene University. This is my 15th year teaching. I have taught 1st grade, kindergarten, and now preschool. I believe that children learn best through their natural environment of play. In play learners are, developing ideas, taking on and assigning roles, collaborating, crafting their own environment and deciding when to change it. They also develop negotiating rules and become active listeners. These social skills are infused into the academic curriculum that is also provided to students on a daily basis. Play helps connect students to the world and to each other and offers unlimited possibilities!
